Philip E. Neason

Headshot of Phil Neason

Phil Neason serves as Co-Chair on the Clay Center Advisory Council‘s Development Team. He is a retired Investment Banking executive, having built a successful 35+ year career at Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Bank of Tokyo, MacQuarie, and others.

Phil’s expertise is financing international commercial and military aircraft and airline operations. He has financed a majority of the aircrafts we know – from Delta to Swissair, and the operations of McDonnell Douglas, Lockheed and Boeing. He’s even been at the controls of many of them himself. Phil negotiated to keep certain airlines in the air around the Middle East during operation Desert Storm, and he represented Brazil’s Embraer in a trade battle with Canada’s Bombardier over government subsidization.

Towards the end of his career, he focused on pro-bono work to develop wind farms in Africa utilizing sustainable energy solutions to bring power to impoverished communities.

In his spare time, Phil still flies planes for fun.
